Nicoletta Wylde is a poet, spoken-word performer, burlesque artist, author and critic living in London, UK.
Known for her mesmerizing, blood-spattered performance style, and heady prose she has become a favourite on the capital’s spoken word and Dark Cabaret scenes, and has performed at events across the UK, including the Brighton Fringe, the Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow Horror Fest. She also co-founded the occult cabaret night, C O V E N.
In recent years she has produced two spoken word albums, 2016’s Dichotomy and 2018’s Maneki Nico, both available on all streaming platforms, as well as on CD from the store. In 2019 she wrote and performed her first one-woman show, Nicoletta Wylde Is Afraid of the Dark, winning four-star reviews, and Artificial Womb zine praising it for its “urgency and authenticity” and “deep sense of eldritch terror” during its run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Her first poetry collection, The Direction of Greater Courage, will be published by Sweat Drenched Press in July 2021.
Wylde lives in North-East London with her husband and her beloved cat Princess. She wrote her first fiction at the age of six, was writing full novels by the time she was sixteen, and never looked back. She writes regularly about film and music for numerous sites including HeyUGuys, Music OMH and Drowned In Sound, and – pandemic aside – still performs her poetry and prose on the London circuit.
